Hunger and Food
Prayers and prayer services to help youth reflect with a spiritual mindset on the issues of hunger and food.
Doers of the Word
Through a reflection on the causes of hunger and scriptures that call us to respond to the needs of hungry people, participants will consider how they might actively live the scriptures in their lives.
In Another's Shoes
Students will reflect on the questions: What does is it mean to walk in another person’s shoes? Will I understand their life a little bit better if I “walk in their shoes”? Answering these questions will lead to a better understanding of hunger and our brothers and sisters who may not have enough to eat.
Through the lens of Catholic social teaching, these activities and lessons will teach youth about the realities of hunger in our world.
Connection to the World: When did I see you hungry?
Through this activity participants will begin to understand the concept of food security and the circumstances that threaten it in the U.S. and throughout the world.
Use these multimedia files to supplement your lessons and activities and give youth a more full understanding of Catholic social teaching, solidarity, and hunger in our world.
